sgfleet hosted its 6th annual Charity Golf Day at Castle Hill Country Club in Sydney on Tuesday 25th September 2018. This year, we were pleased to be an official fundraiser for the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 presented by Jaguar Land Rover.
The event was attended by over 90 sponsors and guests from the financial services, fleet management and vehicle dealer/manufacturing industries. We were also joined by special guests Sean Lawler, a former Invictus Games competitor, and Brumbies Super Rugby Players Sam Carter, Tom Cusack and Lachlan McCaffrey.
It was a magnificently sunny day to play 18 holes of golf at the beautiful Castle Hill Country Club. On course, players had the opportunity to hit for a Hole in One, with the prize of a brand new Mitsubishi Eclipse Exceed kindly donated by Mitsubishi Australia. Teams enjoyed refreshments from the drinks cart on the fairway courtesy of Hyundai Motor Company Australia.
After a long, hard day navigating the course, guests refuelled at happy hour and canapés with thanks to Macquarie Leasing before moving into the dining room for dinner and an entertaining and engaging Q&A with the Brumbies players. The aim of the sgfleet Charity Golf Day this year was to help raise awareness of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 and the positive impact that sport can have in the rehabilitation of those who serve. To help convey this important message, we were fortunate enough to have Sean Lawler share his experience and the importance of the Games.
Founded in 2014 by HRH the Duke of Sussex, the Invictus Games is an international adaptive sport event for wounded, injured and ill veterans and serving defence personnel. The Invictus Games Sydney 2018 will be held on 20 – 27 October.
With some wonderful support from our business partners, customers and special guests we were able to raise a total of $35,500 for the Invictus Games Sydney 2018.
