Fleet & Mobility Live is one of the most significant events for the fleet, mobility and transport industries. Usually held every year at the NEC in Birmingham, this year, due to COVID-19, the exhibition is being hosted completely virtually on the 17th-19th November.
So, what can we expect to see at the virtual Fleet & Mobility Live 2020 event?
Let's find out.
The fleet sector has an important role to play in driving forward the UK's economic recovery during the current pandemic, so the industry needs to continue delivering the services and products that everyone depends on.
Now is also a vital time for fleet decision makers, manufacturers and suppliers to come together to discuss the future of mobility, industry trends, and transport plans. As such, the online event will provide a platform for these topics and more.
All exhibitors will have a virtual booth that attendees can 'visit' to learn more about their products and services. Once at the stand, users can communicate via text chat, voice or video call, as well as get the information they need through various links or sales literature.
There will be eight industry-based talks a day, including discussions on the changing face of fleet and the future of mobility, as well as topics that cover electric vehicles (EVs) and operational excellence. There will also be a session dedicated to procurement.
At previous events, attendees could get a sneak peek at new vehicles due for release in the coming months. This year, visitors can still get this preview, but via a virtual showroom.
The interactive showroom will allow visitors to get an up-close and personal look at the new vehicles they can expect on the market soon, including EVs and hybrids.
The virtual networking lounge allows attendees to connect with exhibitors and other visitors through live polls and open discussions. A great way to build new contacts and share ideas.
Certain aspects of the virtual Fleet & Mobility Live event will have to be different to accommodate the limitations of the virtual platform. Here are some of the new features, especially adapted for the simulated world.
Since exhibitors cannot hand out real goody bags, visitors have the option of adding any videos or brochures they are interested in into a virtual one. At the end of the day, these can be downloaded to be viewed at leisure.
In order to encourage attendees to explore as much of the exhibition as possible, there will be a scavenger hunt with objects hidden around the site. Visitors can collect them to score points, motivating them to explore as much of the virtual venue as they can. Once you have collected all 10 items, you will be entered into a prize draw, where you have the chance to win one of five £50 vouchers.
If any attendee finds it difficult to navigate the platform or needs help, they can visit a virtual helpdesk for IT support. The helpdesk can also be used for getting in touch with the organisers if visitors have any event-related questions.
What are the benefits of holding the event virtually?
Whilst it might be better to be able to talk, discuss, and network with people in the industry face-to-face, a virtual event does have significant advantages. Here are some of the benefits visitors can enjoy at the virtual Fleet & Mobility Live 2020 event.
When an event is held in a room, the size of the space determines how many people can attend. Even though there are some factors that limit the number of participants in the cyber world as well, on the whole, it allows a much larger audience to be present.
Additionally, more people can attend because they can do so from their desks, whilst at work, removing the need to take time off for travel and attendance.
In a real-world event, attendees might find that the quality of their viewing experience depends on where they find a seat in a seminar.
In a virtual event, on the other hand, each visitor gets to experience the exhibition from 'the front row', making it a much more enriching experience for them. The speakers are on the screen in front of them, making it easier to watch the presentation and listen to everything they have to say without any disruptions.
With previous attendees visiting from across the country or further afar, many would have to spend a great deal of money on travel, accommodation and food costs. With a virtual event, visitors don't have to worry about any of those expenses, making the whole event less expensive.
With an exhibition held in physical space, visitors have access to a large amount of information for only the duration of the event. However, since Fleet & Mobility Live 2020 is a virtual event, all exhibition features will be available on demand, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and for 28 days after the event too. Registered attendees can view this content whenever they want during this period.
You can find our exhibition space in Hall 1, stand 18.
Once there, visitors can register for a free fleet analysis, designed to highlight any areas of management or processes that can be more efficient and reduce costs.
As part of our commitment to the environment, we are also offering attendees insights into how they can convert to a greener fleet in a measured and sustainable manner.
Finally, any visitor who takes up the free review will be entered into a prize draw to win an Apple Watch.
